As an educational
company first and foremost, PROMISE Cyber School is constantly looking
for ways to improve the communities in which it works. PROMISE works to
partner with local schools, churches, and community groups to offer its
classes to children who otherwise could not afford any English classes
at all. Combating inequality in education is everyone's responsibility,
and PROMISE is proud to help in this endeavor.
Learning English may not sound that important to people in the United
States, where second language learning is a luxury instead of the norm,
but in Korea learning English is very important . Korea has a high unemployment
rate, and a very education population. Therefore government and businesses
in Korea have made the international language English a priority so that
jobs can be brought into Korea. As a result most sought after jobs in
Korea require a strong score on an English proficiency test.
In the rural areas
of Korea it is very hard to find good teachers English teachers, because
money draws talent to the cities. For that reason PROMISE teaches classes
in rural Young Kwang country, Korea for two years. Because of their remote
location, students in Young Kwang county would not have instruction by
a native speaking English teacher if it wasn't for modern technology,
and PROMISE's wonderful teachers, and partners. PROMISE hopes to expand
its operation in rural schools in 2009.
ROD

ages and backgrounds through the help of nonprofit work. It is the hope
of PROMISE that children will be able to attend classes regardless of
their economic status. Through hard work and caring individuals, PROMISE
believes that this dream can become a reality! We look forward to the
challenges and rewards that this new adventure will bring!
ROD will also provide scholarships for left-behind children, orphans,
giving them a once and a life time opportunity to come to the U.S.A.,
learn English, and experience a new culture.
