For 5th to 10th grade students
The Cyber Essay Club is for students who want help with their essay writing. PROMISE knows that essay writing is about more than grammar. Writing a good essay requires a combination of many skills, and PROMISE’s program works to help students to read better, to think better, to listen better, to speak better and to write better. PROMISE also knows that students learn best when they are engaged and having fun, so our students have fun while studying short stories from the Great Books Foundation. The class plays games and responds to engaging questions. The students also hold peer-to-peer critical discussions of the stories in their Junior Great Books anthologies using the Shared Inquiry method of discussions, which has a proven statistical record of increasing critical and analytical thinking of the participating students (Please view their excellent results). The Great Books program is being offered for the students only in gifted and talented programs in some public schools. PROMISE is truly excited to bring this precious program to all students. |
